Our Parasail boat

“Our Boat” is a “Commercial Water Sports Winch boat" that is USCG certified and Trinidad & Tobago Maritime Services approved for 12 passengers and two crew members. It is equipped with a Yanmar Diesel Turbo 315 hp engine which was installed in late 2005. In 2006 we refitted and up graded the Hydraulic System with a state of the art system from Custom Chutes in Florida . The boat has a custom modified deep V hull which gives an extremely gentle and dry ride in most conditions, which is a pleasure for all our passengers. During the parasail ride you will not have to run on the beach to take off. You will not be lifted from another boat or platform. The boat is equipped with a parasail inflation system and hydraulic winch powered by the main drive engine to launch and retrieve the parasailor from the flight deck, located in the rear of the boat. It is the safest most modern method of parasailing available.

Family parasailingConsequently, it is unlikely that you will ever see a winch boat parasail boat on "America 's Funniest ( most painful ) Home Videos". With winch boat technology you can even fly up to 3 persons at a time. This is great for flying mum, dad and child together. There is no running off the end of a jetty or being dragged along a beach, our winch boat allows us to safely launch and land you from our flight deck.

We fly Waterbird® Parasails, the latest in parasail design from Waterbird® who have been the leaders in Parasail design and manufacture since 1974. The design enables us to fly single, double and triple rides in a wider range of conditions with less pressure on the boat and winch system.

We fly a range of parasails depending on weight and wind conditions, we are able to fly over 230kg/500lb with conditions prevailing. The captain may reduce these weights due to weather conditions.

All flyers are equipped with life vests, custom harness and thoroughly briefed on the flight and safety procedures for the experience.

Our boat is fully equipped with safety equipment including GPS, depth sounder, wind meter, life vests, life rings, fire extinguisher and flares.

The crew has been trained in the United States, with extensive flight experience in Tobago, we aim to make your trip an unforgettable experience for the right reason.

FAQS

Our boat at Pigeon Point JettyWhere does the boat leave from? We normally leave from the Pigeon Point jetty and fly clients in and around the Buccoo Reef area. However we can, and do, fly in the Mt Irvine, Le Grand Courland and Rex Turtle Beach areas when there are group requests.

Are there any age or weight requirements? There are no age requirements, but there are weight requirements. There are minimum and maximum weight requirements depending on the strength of the wind. The stronger the wind the more weight that is needed in the parasail. If someone does not weigh enough to go by themselves they can usually go up with someone else. Our age record so far has been youngest 3 years 5 months Nicolas Hewson-Barsellotti from Gloucester, England and 81 year old Joan Sue-A-Quan from Toronto, Canada, (originally from Trinidad).

How long does it take? Each flight is in the air around 10 to 12 minutes. You are on the boat anywhere from a half hour to an hour depending on the number of people that are participating.

Can people go on the boat and watch? Yes. There is a maximum of 12 passengers per boat including flyers and non-flyers. We usually allow only as many observers as flyers. Upgrades are available with payment on board should an observer change his/her mind and decide to parasail!

Do you have to get wet? We utilize a system of Parasailing called controlled parasailing. This system utilizes a hydraulic winch and a platform (flight deck) that is built onto the back of the parasail boat. Guests are gently lifted from the flight deck on the back of the boat and land right back on board the boat. It is the safest most modern method of Parasailing available. You do not have to get wet if you do not want to, but a fun part of the ride is towards the end when the captain can slow the boat down, you slowly drift down to the water for a refreshing dip.

Passengers after a flightWhat do we need to bring? It is good to wear a swimsuit if you choose to get a little wet. Also a towel and don't forget to wear sunscreen.

Do we run on the beach like in Mexico? No. Here in Tobago, all parasail takeoffs and landings are hydraulically controlled, where you are lifted gently from the platform, then winched back down at the end of the ride onto the rear platform.

What sea life do we see from the air? Sea Turtles, including Leather Back and Hawksbill are a common sight from 300 feet. We also see Bottle Nose Dolphins on occasions.
